Meredith + Clay were married at The Allan House in late October. They’ve been dating for quite some time, so their friends were excited to help them celebrate tying the knot. They included many special people in their wedding day – the same minister who married Meredith’s parents and sister, Clay’s band members and their photographer friend, Cory Ryan.
You can tell this wedding was just as much fun for their friends and family as it was to Clay + Meredith!
From Cory - Clay and Meredith have been dating for as long as I can remember – and finally I heard the exciting news that their wedding day was on the horizon and that I was bestowed with the honor of photographing it! I remember meeting them for the first time years ago and thinking how they truly had each found their perfect match. So I’d been especially looking forward to this day all year long!
The couple was married by the same minister that married the groom’s parents and groom’s sister – and traveled all the way to Austin to be a part of their special day! Afterwards, they were just so glowing with uncontrollable happiness! Clay is an exceptional musician, who has been in tons of Austin bands over the years, so it was no surprise that his fellow bandmates and musician friends would be the musical entertainment at their wedding. The first official band was Sticks and Stones, a Rolling Stones cover band (perfect party music, right?). Clay went up to sing back-ups on songs, Meredith played cowbell, and friend after friend stepped to the microphone to sing a song or switch to a new instrument. It was almost like being at a real show downtown!
For their sparkler exit, Meredith wore the same going-away outfit that her grandmother wore in the 50’s. And the getaway car they left in was a special antique car provided by the the groom’s father. So sweet!
