Angie and Marvin were together for over ten years before getting married! Their DIY wedding featured feather boutonnieres, elegant bouquets and gorgeous style elements. Most importantly though, their wedding was a coming together of all their friends and family. Angie talks so sweetly of this experience below…
DFW wedding photographer, Shanna Leigh Images, shared this wedding with us.
From Shanna Leigh – Angie and Marvin tied the knot this month after over ten years of dating! They had an intimate ceremony at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens followed by a dinner reception with family and friends at Ferré in downtown Fort Worth. Angie did all of her own flowers as well as the fellas’ feather boutonnieres.

The Engagement -
Marvin is the kind of man who will pull over to rescue a hurt animal and nurse it back to health. He volunteers, he cooks, he cleans, he plays guitar, he works hard, he’s funny, and of course he’s SUPER CUTE! But, a romantic, he is not. And that is fine with me because I am not into the cheesy “cliché” things that go along with so many “over the top” engagement stories (those things make me squirmy). When Marvin popped the question, it was just the two of us, at home, on our couch after a delicious Valentine’s Eve dinner. The ring was EXACTLY what I had been waiting for, and I was THRILLED! (Of course by this time, I had already been practicing my new signature for years!) We had been dating for 11 years.
The Wedding -
I could write for hours about the Dress Shop, The Photographer, The Hairstylist, The Makeup Artist, The Baker, The Restaurant, the girls, the guys, my awesome parents, the guests, and everything in between. It takes a village to create a great wedding and I wish I could write a blog about each and every person who made our day PERFECT. But I will keep this short and sweet; everything from the boutonnières and the bouquets to the guestbook and the signs were DIY; my mom, bridesmaids, and I had a blast planning, shopping, and brainstorming for the wedding. I was so happy with how everything turned out; the weather was perfection, the groom was hot, the dress fit like a glove, my bridesmaids were wonderful, the food was scrumptious, the cake melted in our mouths, the guests were fun and a bit tipsy, and my photographer was the glue of the whole day! We were elated with how everything turned out, and I was so proud to have such a cute new husband!
But in the end, the toasts, the tears, the laughter, the stories, and the gathering of all of our favorite people in one room, were by far the most memorable and important thing about our Wedding Day.
